Samsung SDS announced its tentative performance of 13.63 trillion won in sales and 808.1 billion won in operating profit in 2021 on the 27th. Sales rose 24% year-on-year. It achieved maximum annual sales.
In terms of business performance, sales of the IT service business increased 6.1% from last year to 5.6372 trillion won. The logistics business recorded sales of 7.9928 trillion won, up 40.2% from last year, due to rising air, shipping, logistics fares, and increased volume of home appliances and IT products.
In particular, Samsung SDS said external sales, excluding affiliates, rose 36% year-on-year to 2.629 trillion won.
Sales from the IT service business increased 19% year-on-year to 1.521 trillion won thanks to the expansion of the △ cloud conversion and construction of the △ERP business △ global partnership-based SaaS business.
External sales of the logistics business increased 52% year-on-year to 1.45 trillion won due to increased volume centered on high-tech and auto parts industries.
Meanwhile, sales in the fourth quarter reached 3.9366 trillion won, the largest quarterly sales, and operating profit was 144.2 billion won.
Samsung SDS said an uncertain business environment is expected to continue this year. However, the demand for IT investment and cloud introduction and transformation by companies and institutions to cope with post-COVID-19 is expected to increase.
To this end, Samsung SDS plans to accelerate its transformation into a cloud native company by strengthening its MSP (Managed Service Provider) business that provides all cloud-related services from cloud adoption consulting to infrastructure, application transformation, development, deployment, operation.
In addition, in the logistics sector, it plans to expand service areas such as China and Southeast Asia based on the digital logistics service Cello Square.
